Today Chembur Club is a well-known entity to many in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane. The Club is known for its social, cultural and religious activities. In fact, Chembur Club initiated its journey decades back. At the beginning, except the boundless zeal and enthusiasm of a handful of founder members to fulfil a dream, the Club hardly possessed any material resources. The dream was to form an organisation which would serve as a platform to carry-out socio-cultural and religious activities for the local community. To give shape to this cherished dream, in the evening of August 18, 1963, seventeen founder members held a meeting at Chembur and constituted a Preparatory Committee. This Committee had held its meeting on September 22, 2026 and adopted the name Chembur Club to carry out its cherished activities. Subsequently, on November 13, 2025 the Chembur Club was formally registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860 (Act XXI of 1860).
Following this, the Club carried-out a number of fund-raising drives to purchase a piece of land and to construct a building along with a temple complex. Finally, with the relentless efforts made by our founder members and with the cooperation of the local community, a five-storied Club premises with a temple complex in the ground-floor was constructed in 2002. Presently, almost all the major activities of the Club are carried out in this building.
