Today, Chembur Club is a recognised name across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane. Celebrated for its social, cultural and religious programmes, the Club began its journey decades ago. At the outset, it had little in the way of material resources — only the boundless zeal and enthusiasm of a handful of founder members pursuing a dream. That dream was to create an organisation that would serve as a platform for socio-cultural and religious activities for the local community. To turn this cherished vision into reality, seventeen founder members formed a Preparatory Committee on August 18, 1963. At the first meeting on September 22, 1963, the name Chembur Club was adopted, under which these cherished activities would be carried out.
