Today, the Chembur Club is a well-known entity in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane. Known for its social, cultural and religious activities, the Club initiated its journey decades back. In the beginning, it hardly possessed any material resources except the boundless zeal and enthusiasm of a handful of founder members to fulfil a dream. The dream was to form an organisation to serve as a platform to carry-out socio-cultural and religious activities for the local community. To give shape to this cherished dream, on August 18, 1963, seventeen founder members constituted a Preparatory Committee. During the 1st meeting held on September 22, 1963, the name of Chembur Club was adopted under which the cherished activities would be carried out.
